Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for the Belt and Road Initiative Scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Non-Chinese citizens from Belt and Road Initiative countries.
- Applicants must be in good health and meet the health requirements of the Chinese Government.
- For undergraduate studies, applicants must hold a high school diploma or equivalent.
- For postgraduate studies, applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
- Applicants must show strong academic performance and language proficiency (English or Chinese).
- Applicants must not be currently studying in China or have received a scholarship from Chinese government scholarship programs.
- Applicants for undergraduate studies should be under 28 years old, and applicants for postgraduate studies should be under 40 years old.

Application Instructions
Interested applicants are required to submit their application through the online application system of the China Scholarship Council. The application deadline is typically in April every year. Shortlisted candidates will be required to undergo an interview and submit all necessary supporting documents.
