Unitywater’s Bright Future for First Nation Students Scholarship

For First Nation students in Australia, the pursuit of higher education can often come with financial barriers. To address this issue, Unitywater, in partnership with the University of the Sunshine Coast, offers the Bright Future for First Nation Students Scholarship. Target Group
The scholarship is open to students who identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander and are enrolled or intending to study at the University of the Sunshine Coast.
Scholarship Value/Inclusions
The scholarship covers full tuition fees for the duration of the recipient’s undergraduate degree, as well as a laptop to support their studies. In addition, the scholarship also includes a $5,000 per year living allowance to assist with the costs of university life.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the Unitywater’s Bright Future Scholarship,
- Identify as an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person
- be enrolled in part-time or full-time undergraduate study at UniSC in one of the following programs:
- Bachelor of Computer Science
- Bachelor of Information and Communications Technology
- Bachelor of Business
- Bachelor of Business (HRM)
- Bachelor of Business (Management)
- Bachelor of Business (Marketing)
- Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting)
- Bachelor of Social Science (Psychology)
- any bachelor level degree within the School of Science, Technology and Engineering
- minimum Grade Point Average (GPA) of 4.0
- be commencing the penultimate year of study at UniSC
- Australian citizen, New Zealand citizen, Permanent Australian Humanitarian Visa holder or Permanent Resident of Australia

Application Instructions
Applications for the scholarship are open from September to November each year. To apply, students must complete an online application form, which includes providing academic transcripts, a personal statement, and references from a teacher or community leader.
