Brief Description

Carleton University offers two SHAD scholarships to exceptional high school students who are passionate about pursuing a post-secondary education in science, technology, engineering, or mathematics (STEM). These scholarships cover the full cost of attending SHAD, a month-long enrichment program for high-achieving students.

The Two Carleton University SHAD Scholarships are sponsored by Carleton University and are available for students attending the SHAD program at any of the 19 participating universities across Canada.

Level/Field of Study

The scholarships are available for high school students who are interested in pursuing studies in STEM-related fields, including science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.

Only two scholarships are awarded each year.

Scholarship Value/Inclusions

Each Carleton University SHAD scholarship covers the full cost of attending the SHAD program, including tuition, lodging, meals, and other related expenses. The total value of each scholarship is approximately $5,000.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for these scholarships,

• Applicants must be Canadian citizens or permanent residents, currently enrolled in grade 10 or 11,
• Have an average of at least 85% in their top six grade 11 or 12 courses.
• They must also demonstrate strong leadership potential, a passion for STEM subjects, and a commitment to making a positive impact in their community.

Application Instructions

Interested students can apply for the Carleton University SHAD scholarships through the SHAD website. The application process includes submitting academic transcripts, a written essay, and two reference letters. Shortlisted candidates will also be required to attend an interview.
