Brief Description

The Summer School of Slovak Language and Culture Scholarship is an international program organized by SAIA in partnership with leading academic institutions in Serbia. The scholarship aims to promote cultural exchange, enhance Slovak language skills, and expand knowledge of Slovak society and culture.

Host Institution(s)

The host institution for this scholarship is the Faculty of Philosophy at the University of Novi Sad, one of the largest and most prestigious universities in Serbia. The program is also supported by the Slovak Embassy in Serbia and the Office for Slovaks Living Abroad.

Level/Field of Study

The scholarship is open to all students, researchers, and professionals interested in Slovak language and culture, regardless of their field of study or specialization.

Number of Awards

Each year, 30 participants from around the world are selected to attend the Summer School of Slovak Language and Culture in Serbia.

Target Group

This scholarship is available to students, researchers, and professionals from all countries, with priority given to applicants from Balkan countries and countries where Slovak is not a commonly taught language.

Scholarship Value/Inclusions

The scholarship covers tuition fees, accommodation, meals, and cultural activities for the duration of the program. Travel expenses to and from Serbia are the responsibility of the participants.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:
1. Be at least 18 years old
2. Have a minimum proficiency level of B1 in Slovak, certified by a language certificate or a letter from a Slovak teacher
3. Be able to communicate in English
4. Have a valid passport
5. Be in good health and able to travel
6. Demonstrate a genuine interest in Slovak language and culture

Application Instructions
