Brief Description

The Romania – Study/research Stay for Ph.D. Students, University Teachers, and Researchers Scholarship is a fully-funded program initiated by the Slovak Academic Information Agency (SAIA) and co-sponsored by the Romanian government. It aims to facilitate the education and research experience of Ph.D. students, university teachers, and researchers from Slovakia through a study or research stay at accredited universities in Romania.

It also covers a monthly stipend of 500 EUR for Ph.D. students and 700 EUR for university teachers and researchers.

To be eligible for this scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Be citizens of Slovakia
  • Have completed a Ph.D. degree or currently enrolled in a Ph.D. program at a Slovakian university
  • Have teaching or research experience at a Slovakian university
  • Possess advanced knowledge of English or Romanian
  • Not have been awarded this scholarship before
  • Not be a recipient of another Slovakian government scholarship
  • Fulfill all the requirements of the selected Romanian university or research institute

Application Instructions

Applications for the Romania – Study/research Stay for Ph.D. Students, University Teachers, and Researchers Scholarship must be submitted online through the SAIA portal. The application period opens in October and closes in December. Applicants are required to submit a research/project proposal, motivation letter, CV, and other supporting documents. A committee composed of representatives from SAIA and the Romanian government evaluates all applications and selects the recipients.
