Number of Awards

Each year, the University of Maryland offers 20 competitive scholarships to transfer students. These awards are renewable for up to two years, subject to the recipient maintaining a minimum GPA of 3.0.

Target Group

The President’s Transfer Scholarship is open to all domestic and international transfer students who are pursuing their first undergraduate degree at the University of Maryland. Applicants must have completed at least one full-time semester at a community college or university before transferring to UMD.

Scholarship Value/Inclusions

The President’s Transfer Scholarship covers up to 50% of the recipient’s tuition and fees for two years. In addition, scholarship recipients are also provided with a $1,000 stipend for summer internships or research opportunities.
