PolyU Master of Design – International Excellence Scholarships

Brief Description

The PolyU Master of Design – International Excellence Scholarships (IES) is a competitive merit-based scholarship program for outstanding international students pursuing a Master of Design degree at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. This program aims to cultivate future design leaders and foster a global design community.

In addition, they will receive a monthly stipend of HK$12,000 (approximately USD1,540) to cover living expenses. This scholarship also provides recipients with a one-time travel grant of up to HK$5,000 (approximately USD640) to help with their relocation to Hong Kong.

Eligibility Criteria

To be considered for the IES scholarship, applicants must meet the following eligibility criteria:
1. Hold a non-local student status and not be a permanent resident of Hong Kong.
2. Have a Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) from a recognized university in a relevant field.
3. Demonstrate excellent academic performance and possess a strong portfolio.
4. Fulfill the admission requirements and be accepted into a Master of Design program at PolyU.
5. Have a minimum score of 550 (paper-based) or 79 (internet-based) in the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or a minimum score of 6.5 in the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) for applicants whose first language is not English.

Application Instructions

Applicants must first apply for admission to a Master of Design program at PolyU before submitting their scholarship application. Once accepted into the program, they can then submit the IES scholarship application form along with the required supporting documents, including academic transcripts, certificates, and a portfolio.
