Brief Description

The In-Country/In-Region Scholarship Programme by AIT and DAAD was established in 1987, making it the longest-running scholarship program in Asia. Since its inception, over 1,600 students from 38 countries across the Asia-Pacific region have been awarded scholarships to pursue their academic dreams at AIT.

The In-Country/In-Region Scholarship Programme by AIT and DAAD is highly competitive, with only a limited number of scholarships being awarded every year. Each year, approximately 20-25 scholarships are offered for Master’s and 5-7 for Doctoral programs.

Scholarship Value/Inclusions

The In-Country/In-Region Scholarship covers full tuition fees, a monthly allowance for living expenses, and a travel grant to and from the home country of the student. It also provides health and accident insurance and other academic support services, such as a yearly book allowance. The total value of the scholarship is approximately 17,000 euros per year.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for this scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:

1. Be a citizen of a developing country in Asia.
2. Have a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification.
3. Have excellent academic performance and a strong background in the relevant field of study.
4. Have at least two years of professional experience.
5. Fulfill the English language proficiency requirements of AIT.
6. Be in good health.
