Brief Description

The DAAD-ACEH Scholarship of Excellence is a joint initiative between the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) and the Aceh Government in Indonesia. It aims to provide outstanding students from Aceh with the opportunity to pursue their studies in Germany and develop their skills and knowledge in various fields.

Each year, around 10-15 scholarships are awarded to exceptional students from Aceh, Indonesia to study in Germany.

Scholarship Value/Inclusions

The scholarship covers all tuition fees, a monthly stipend of 850 euros for Master’s students and 1,200 euros for PhD students, health insurance, and a travel allowance. Additionally, scholarship recipients are also given the opportunity to join a German language course before their studies begin.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the DAAD-ACEH Scholarship,

• Applicants must be from Aceh, Indonesia and have completed their undergraduate studies with excellent grades.
• They must also have a conditional or unconditional admission to a Master’s or PhD program at a German university.

Application Instructions

Interested and eligible candidates can apply for the scholarship through the DAAD-ACEH Scholarship portal, which is open each year from March to May. The application process includes submitting an online application form, a motivation letter, curriculum vitae, and other supporting documents such as academic transcripts and language proficiency certificates. Shortlisted candidates will be invited for an interview before the final selection is made.
