Number of Awards

Each year, the program awards full-tuition scholarships to ten incoming freshmen, with up to 40 scholars in the program at any given time.

Scholarship Value/Inclusions

The scholarship covers full-tuition costs for up to four years of undergraduate study at the University of Missouri – Columbia. In addition, scholars receive a $5,000 annual stipend for leadership development and a $2,000 yearly allowance for internship or research opportunities.

Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for the Blatchford Scholars program,

  • Students must be admitted to the University of Missouri – Columbia as incoming freshmen.
  • They must also have a minimum ACT score of 26 or SAT score of 1240, a high school GPA of 3.5 or higher.
  • Demonstrate strong leadership potential.
  • Involvement in extracurricular activities.

Application Instructions

Students must complete and submit the University of Missouri – Columbia application for admission by December 1st, along with the additional Blatchford Scholars application and a personal essay. Finalists will be invited for an interview with the selection committee.
