Eligibility Criteria

  • To be eligible for this scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:
  • Must be a current or incoming graduate student at Athabasca University
  • Must be 30 years of age or older at the time of application
  • Must demonstrate academic excellence and have a minimum GPA of 3.0
  • Must showcase personal qualities such as perseverance, determination, and commitment to personal and academic goals
  • Must be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident
  • Must not have received this award before

Application Instructions

To apply for the AU Award for a Mature Graduate Student, interested candidates must complete the online application form and submit the following documents:
A personal statement outlining their academic and personal achievements, as well as their future goals.

Resume or CV
Copy of transcripts showing grades for all post-secondary courses taken
Two letters of recommendation from individuals familiar with the applicant’s academic and personal qualities
Proof of Canadian citizenship or permanent residency status

Applications must be submitted by February 15 for the upcoming academic year. The selected recipient will be notified by June 15th.
