Hong Kong Mediation and Arbitration Centre (PROF. ALBERT SO) Charity Fund Scholarship
Brief Description
The Hong Kong Mediation and Arbitration Centre (HKMAC) established the PROF. ALBERT SO Charity Fund Scholarship to support students at The Lingnan University who are passionate about conflict resolution and alternative dispute resolution methods.

The scholarship is hosted by The Lingnan University in collaboration with the Hong Kong Mediation and Arbitration Centre.
Level/Field of Study
The scholarship is open to students pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in any field at The Lingnan University.
Number of Awards
Each year, one student will be awarded the scholarship.
Target Group
The scholarship is open to Hong Kong permanent residents who demonstrate an interest and aptitude in the fields of mediation and arbitration.
Scholarship Value/Inclusions
The scholarship covers full tuition fees and living expenses for one year, up to a maximum of HK$200,000. In addition, the recipient will have the opportunity to participate in mentorship programs and internships with the HKMAC.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the scholarship,
- Applicants must be Hong Kong permanent residents who are currently enrolled in or have been accepted to The Lingnan University.
- They must also demonstrate a passion for mediation and arbitration, as well as high academic achievement and financial need.

Application Instructions
Interested students can apply for the scholarship through The Lingnan University’s Office of Student Affairs. The application process includes submitting a personal statement, academic transcripts, and letters of recommendation. Shortlisted candidates will be invited for an interview with the HKMAC.
