Premier’s International Scholarship

Brief Description

Established in 1964, BCIT is a public polytechnic institution located in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. The Premier’s International Scholarship is a merit-based scholarship designed to attract and support talented international students to study at BCIT.

Scholarship Value/Inclusions

The scholarship covers 50% of a student’s tuition fees for the first year of study at BCIT. For eligible students, this amounts to approximately $16,000 CAD. The amount is disbursed in two equal installments – 50% granted in the first semester and the remaining 50% in the second semester of the academic year.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the Premier’s International Scholarship, applicants must:

• Be an international student with a valid study permit
• Have applied to study full-time in a BCIT degree, diploma or certificate program
• Possess a strong academic record with a minimum GPA of 75% or its equivalent
• Demonstrate outstanding extracurricular activities, leadership skills, and community involvement
• Have a letter of recommendation from a teacher, counsellor, or employer
• Be fluent in English (applicants whose first language is not English must provide proof of English proficiency)

Application Instructions

The application process for the Premier’s International Scholarship is simple and straightforward. To apply, follow these steps:
1. Submit an online application for a program at BCIT.
2. Pay the $145 application fee.
3. Apply for the scholarship by completing the online International Student Entrance Award application form.
4. Upload all required supporting documents, including academic transcripts, letter of recommendation, and proof of English proficiency.
5. Submit your application before the scholarship deadline (usually around February or March).
