Number of Awards

Every year, SNU offers approximately 650 KGSP scholarships to outstanding international students. Out of these, around 50% are allocated for students pursuing undergraduate degrees, while the remaining 50% are for graduate students.

Scholarship Value/Inclusions

The KGSP scholarship covers a full tuition waiver, a monthly stipend, round-trip airfare, language training, and medical insurance. The monthly stipend is approximately 1,000,000 Korean won (around $900 USD), and the scholarship is renewable every semester, subject to academic performance.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the KGSP scholarship,

  • Applicants must be non-Korean citizens with a high school degree for undergraduate programs or a bachelor’s degree for graduate programs.
  • They must also have a good academic standing and be under the age of 25 for undergraduate programs and 40 for graduate programs.
  • Additionally, candidates should not have Korean citizenship and must not have previously enrolled in a Korean university.

Application Instructions

Applicants must apply via the designated Korean Embassy or Consulate in their home country. The application period is usually open between September and October for the following academic year. After the first round of screening, applicants who pass will be interviewed by SNU’s admission committee.
