Brief Description
The Hungarian Diaspora Scholarship is a fully-funded scholarship program established by the Hungarian government to support students of Hungarian descent from all around the world. The scholarship is awarded by the University of Pécs, the oldest and one of the most prestigious universities in Hungary.

Number of Awards

Target Group
The scholarship is open to internationally recognized Hungarians, who have at least one parent or grandparent of Hungarian descent. Students who are Hungarian citizens with a foreign passport or are citizens of a foreign country with Hungarian roots are also eligible to apply.
Scholarship Value/Inclusions
The scholarship covers the full tuition fees of the chosen program, a monthly stipend of 40,460 HUF (approx. 130 EUR) for undergraduate, and 140,000 HUF (approx. 450 EUR) for graduate students. The scholarship also provides accommodation in a residence hall or a contribution of 40,000 HUF (approx. 130 EUR) towards the rent. Furthermore, the scholarship includes medical insurance and a one-time relocation contribution of 80,000 HUF (approx. 260 EUR).
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the Hungarian Diaspora Scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:
1. Have Hungarian nationality or descent.
2. Be accepted into an English-taught program at the University of Pécs.
3. Submit all the required application documents.
4. Must not be recipients of any other Hungarian government-funded scholarship.
5. Must not have any criminal records.

Application Instructions
The application process for the Hungarian Diaspora Scholarship is divided into two rounds.
