Number of Awards

Each year, FIU offers more than 100 scholarships to outstanding students through its Collegeboard National Recognition Programs. These include the National Hispanic Recognition Program, the National African American Recognition Program, the National Indigenous Recognition Program, and the National Rural and Small Town Recognition Program.

The FIU Collegeboard National Recognition Programs are open to students from all backgrounds who have received recognition from the College Board for their outstanding academic achievements and potential.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the FIU Collegeboard National Recognition Programs,

• Applicants must be U.S. citizens, permanent residents, or DACA recipients.
• They must also have received recognition from the College Board as a National Hispanic Scholar, National African American Scholar, National Indigenous Scholar, or National Rural and Small Town Scholar.
• Additionally, applicants must have a minimum GPA of 3.5 and a strong track record of academic achievement and leadership.

Application Instructions

To apply for the FIU Collegeboard National Recognition Programs, interested students must complete the FIU Admission and Scholarship Application and submit a copy of their College Board recognition certificate. Applicants must also provide official high school transcripts, SAT or ACT scores, and an essay that highlights their academic achievements, extracurricular activities, and personal goals. The application deadline is December 1st.
