Target Group

The scholarship is open to students from Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka who are onshore in Australia and are enrolling in any of Deakin’s undergraduate or postgraduate programs.

Scholarship Value/Inclusions

The scholarship covers 20% of the total tuition fees for the entire duration of the course. This equates to a total value of approximately $10,000 for a four-year undergraduate degree and $6,400 for a two-year postgraduate degree.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the Deakin International Merit Scholarship (South Asia – Onshore), applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Be a citizen of one of the eligible South Asian countries
  • Meet the minimum academic requirements for the intended course at Deakin University
  • Be enrolling as a full-time, onshore student at Deakin’s Australia campuses
  • Be eligible for a student visa and have no pending visa applications
  • Not have received other scholarships or bursaries from Deakin University

Application Instructions
