The Brown Hudner Navy Scholarship, offered by the Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation (MCSF), honors the legacy of two naval heroes and provides educational opportunities for children of marines who have given the ultimate sacrifice for their country.

The Brown Hudner Navy Scholarship is available to children of fallen U.S. Navy and U.S. Marine Corps service members, who were killed in action or died in the line of duty. It is a tribute to two naval heroes – U.S. Navy Ensign Jesse L. Brown and U.S. Marine Corps Lieutenant Colonel Thomas J. Hudner Jr.

Scholarship Value/Inclusions

Recipients of the Brown Hudner Navy Scholarship will receive a scholarship award of up to $40,000, which can be used to cover tuition, fees, books, and other related educational expenses. Additionally, scholarship recipients will also receive access to mentorship and networking opportunities, as well as other support services provided by the MCSF.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the Brown Hudner Navy Scholarship,

  • Applicants must be the child of a fallen U.S. Navy or U.S. Marine Corps service member, who was killed in action or died in the line of duty.
  • They must also meet the MCSF’s eligibility requirements for need-based scholarships, which takes into consideration the financial need of the applicant’s family.
