Established in honor of William and Janet Lahey, esteemed patrons of the arts, this scholarship aims to recognize and support talented individuals pursuing art education and visual arts studies at California State University Fullerton.

The William & Janet Lahey Art Education and Visual Arts Scholarship is available to students pursuing undergraduate or graduate studies in any art-related field at California State University Fullerton.
Number of Awards
Two (2) $10,000 scholarships will be awarded for the academic year.
Target Group
This scholarship is open to both domestic and international students who have been accepted to or are currently enrolled in an art program at California State University Fullerton.
Scholarship Value/Inclusions
The scholarship covers a $2,500 tuition fee, and the recipient will also have the opportunity to display their artwork at one of the university’s galleries.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the scholarship,
- Be enrolled at a California State University campus at least half-time;
- Possess a bachelor’s degree in art or in one of the visual art specializations;
- Be enrolled in one of the following programs:
- A post baccalaureate program leading to a high school single subject teaching credential in the arts;
- A Master of Fine Arts program in art or one of the visual arts specialization; or
- A Master of Arts program in art or one of the visual arts specializations.
- Be in good academic standing with a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0 on an 4.0 scale

Application Instructions
Interested candidates must complete an online application and submit their portfolio before the specified deadline. The portfolio must consist of at least 10 pieces of artwork, including drawings, paintings, sculptures, or any other medium of the applicant’s choice. The portfolio should also include a brief artist statement.
